Epilepsy Net Guide The Complete Guide to Epilepsy
We were established in 1998 as a Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring Laboratory, the first of its kind in South Africa; and although created primarily for work-up to epilepsy surgery, our results rapidly indicated how invaluable this process could be in the overall evaluation and management of patients with clinically refractory (uncontrolled) epilepsy.
And it is because of those results, and the undeniable multifaceted benefit our services have provided for hundreds of people, that this website was born. Years of experience have taught us that information is power, and that power comes from the knowledge and understanding of the challenges that face people with epilepsy. It is only with insight that true freedom can be attained within an otherwise hopeless situation.
"Information is the clue to understanding and managing your epilepsy. The more you know about this condition the more in control of your life you will feel."
One of our aims is to help people with epilepsy to help themselves by gaining insight into their problem and learning as much as they can about the challenges that face individuals with epilepsy, and their families.
